Aura
Teacher WaackingAura Šriubšaitė – dance teacher, dance performer and student. She started her dance career 10 years ago at Low Air dance school. While learning various street dance styles, she discovered waacking, which Aura found fascinating with its hand plasticity, emotion and elegance. In 2018-2019 she studied contemporary dance at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts. In order to broaden and deepen her knowledge of waacking dance, she has traveled abroad several times to participate in dance battles and workshops: at The Waack off event in Germany, workshops with Chrissy Chou, Archie Burnett; at the All Europe Waacking Festival in France, workshops with Bagsy, Princess Madoki; at the Summer Dance Forever event in the Netherlands, workshops with Boubou, Nubian Nene, and at many other events and seminars. Aura is also actively participating in dance battle events in Lithuania, where she has won several times.
Aura is one of the co-creators and dancers of the Vilnius City Dance Theatre Low Air’s dance performance for (non-)teenagers “me two / We, The Clique”. After the premiere of the performance in August 2021, the company is currently actively performing the performance in foreign and Lithuanian cities, and conducting workshops on the “me two / We, The Clique” method for young people in the regions. For the best performance for children and young people in 2021, the team was awarded the Golden Stage Cross.
Aura is currently studying contemporary dance, with a minor in dance pedagogy, at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
THREE KEY EVENTS:
-In 2017, the Low Air dance school Educational Scholarship was awarded to the school’s most advanced student.
-Being “me two”. The creative process of the dance performance “me two / We, The Clique” by Low Air Dance Theatre required a responsible preparation that cultivated and broadened the understanding of movement.
-Dance studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
