SUMMARY:LOW AIR 15 | Platform for the future: ON SEEN\, BOMBING\, SAD DIVA CLUB
DESCRIPTION:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHOmBV4js_E \nVilnius city dance theater Low Air is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its creative work and is launching “Platform for the Future”—a space where Low Air alumni and their latest works come together. \nOn Saturday evening\, we invite you to see three works by the younger generation of dance artists. Ugnė Irena Laurinavičiūtė will present the premiere of her solo piece “ON SEEN”—about the ever-changing body and its reality\, shaped by the gazes of others\, cultural habits\, and the repetitions of everyday life. \nIn their performance “BOMBING\,” inspired by street dance and graffiti culture\, Monika Čibiraitė and Gabija Čepelytė will invite the audience to reflect on the defense of values\, rebellion\, risk\, invisible oppression\, the price of freedom\, and the euphoria of liberation. \nIn his solo piece “SAD DIVA CLUB\,” Rokas Bugys will invite you to seek out a language of love—inspired by the waacking dance style and the myth of the mermaid—as well as to draw near\, pause\, observe\, and savor the allure. \nThere will be short breaks between performances during the event. \n  \nON SEEN\nON SEEN – a solo work about the ever-changing body and its reality\, shaped by gazes\, cultural habits\, and daily routines. Gender is revealed here not as a given\, but as a construct that has settled over time—an embodied habit that determines how bodies are seen and understood. What seems self-evident begins to shift\, change\, and take on other forms. The body is in a state of constant flux here: shifting between different forms\, states\, and modes of visibility. Movement is deconstructed and reconstructed; it is allowed to fragment\, overlap\, and lose its clear boundaries—as if viewed through fogged glass. The choreography unfolds like compost—from layers\, remnants\, rhythms\, tension\, and excess. Movements briefly take shape\, disintegrate\, and come together again\, like waves that break into foam and reassemble themselves.Instead of a clearly defined identity\, a shifting landscape unfolds\, in which different forms of expression overlap\, merge\, and lose their boundaries. The work remains in this state of instability—with the possibility that the body will never settle—and with a reality that could still be different.Duration: 40 min. \nCREATIVE TEAMChoreography: Ugnė Irena LaurinavičiūtėMusic: Emilija KarosaitėDramaturgy\, choreographic assistance: Maira Darja Shirin HorváthLighting design: Tomas StonysMentor: Liza BaliasnajaCostume Consultant: Thomas BradleyProducer: OPEN FRAME CREATIVE / Dmitrijus AndrušanecasPremiere: 2026Photo: Andrey Motorichev \n UGNĖ IRENA LAURINAVIČIŪTĖUgnė Irena Laurinavičiūtė is a Low Air alumna\, a dancer\, performer\, and choreographer of the younger generation. Her solo piece—inspired by her dance studies in Amsterdam and her experience working with the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company—explores the ever-changing body and its reality\, shaped by gazes\, cultural habits\, and daily routines. Ugnė Irena completed her bachelor’s degree in dance at the Amsterdam University of the Arts in 2024. She has worked with artists such as William Forsythe\, Thomas Hauert\, Ioannis Mandafounis\, Mario Lopes\, Isabel Cordeiro\, Emio Greco\, Pieter Scholten\, Adam Jönsson\, Joelina Spiess\, Airida Gudaite\, Joseph Simon\, and others. The performance was created in collaboration with the Contemporary Dance Association and the Žagarė Cultural Center\, as well as during a residency at the Akee / Aleknaičių Cultural and Educational Space. \nBOMBING\nBOMBING – a street dance duo that balances between self-expression and crime\, individuality and community\, hope and reconciliation. When paint cans start to be treated as dangerous bombs\, and the future of the younger generation is painted over with prohibitions\, what is left for us? Why do we call young people the future\, yet restrict their self-expression? Who decides who is destined to create\, and who is destined to remain silent? Who decides who will live\, and who will die? \nInspired by street dance and graffiti culture\, *BOMBING* is a story about defending values\, rebellion\, risk\, invisible oppression\, the price of freedom\, and the euphoria of liberation—in reality\, in the imagination\, or perhaps only in the peace found in each other’s arms. \nDuration: 40 min. \nPhoto: Aleksandra Ivinskaitė \nCREATIVE TEAM \nChoreography and performance: Monika Čibiraitė and Gabija Čepelytė \nChoreography mentors: Airida Gudaitė and Laurynas Žakevičius \nBreakdancing and street arts mentor: Fredrick Freeze Herranen \nComposer: Rommel Arasa \nAdditional music and performers: Darkstar – “Blurred\,” Jed Kurzel – “Jamie” \nProps designer: Jurgis Binkauskas \nLighting designer: TBA \n MONIKA ČIBIRAITĖ AND GABIJA ČEPELYTĖMonika Čibiraitė is an artist\, dancer\, and educator. She earned a bachelor’s degree in contemporary dance from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater\, specializing in arts education. Monika is a professional street dancer who has specialized in the popping style since 2012. She has more than 13 years of experience and is well-known in the popping community both in Lithuania and abroad. Monika has long been interested in graffiti art—in 2025\, she organized her first graffiti art exhibition\, “Sigil Mixtape\,” in Vilnius. From 2024 to 2026\, she taught at ÅSA Folkhögskola in Sweden\, where she led a popping course and shared her knowledge with an international audience. After completing her studies\, Monika participated in various dance performances and shows\, and is currently pursuing independent artistic projects and striving to establish her name in the fields of culture and art.Gabija Čepelytė is a professional dancer\, producer\, and choreographer working internationally. Her creative practice and core expertise are rooted in the history and culture of street dance\, particularly in the styles and techniques of hip-hop\, house\, and popping. Gabija earned her bachelor’s degree in dance with highest honors from the Surrey/Guildford School of Acting (United Kingdom). She later honed her skills through various programs and courses designed for dancers\, producers\, and choreographers. Gabija has extensive experience in street dance theater and is a recognized participant and organizer on both the Lithuanian and international street dance scenes. \nSAD DIVA CLUB\nSAD DIVA CLUB – a solo piece about the desire to love and be loved\, about seduction as a way to draw closer to another\, and about the body\, which can be both alluring and vulnerable at the same time. What is the language of love that words cannot express? The dance style waacking and the myth of the mermaid—these are the companions on this journey. \nThe body becomes a channel of seduction and connection. A glance\, a face\, hands\, a heartbeat\, weight\, and energy create an invisible thread between the performer and the viewer. Seduction here is not merely a promise—it is an invitation to draw near\, to pause\, to look\, to taste. \n“Sad Diva Club” explores what lies between beauty and vulnerability\, between fantasy and reality\, between what endures and what is constantly changing. Like a wave—always here\, yet always different: approaching\, receding\, and returning once more. The feet remain rooted in reality\, while the body drifts into a dream. \nThis is a diva who invites you to watch. Or perhaps—to be watched. \nDuration: 10 min. \nPhoto: personal archive \nCREATIVE TEAM \nChoreographer and Performer: Rokas Bugys \nMusic: Monika Liu – “Troškimas” \nMentor for the initial process: Sara Wiktorovicz \n ROKAS BUGYSRokas Bugys is a Low Air alumnus\, a dancer\, performer\, and choreographer of the younger generation\, currently studying at the Amsterdam University of the Arts. In his work\, he explores the embodiment of the siren through various movement practices and performative states\, seeking ways to blur the boundaries between what is considered dance and what could yet become dance. Rokas has collaborated with artists such as Gerda Paliušytė\, the band “Superkoloritas\,” Alesya Dobysh\, Zacquel Phipps\, and Airida Gudaite. \nInformation and tickets\n TICKETS TO THE PERFORMANCES: https://www.bilietai.lt/en/tickets/HSDW6GPWF4/low-air-15-platforma-ateiciai-on-seen-bombing-sad-diva-club The activities of the Vilnius City Dance Theater Low Air are funded by the Vilnius City Municipality and the Lithuanian Council for Culture \nRegistracija:\nRegistruokis į renginį\n \n Registracija

SUMMARY:LOW AIR 15 | Platform for the future: ROCK'N'RAP IS DEAD & RUJOJA. DUSLIAI LOJA. DVESIA
DESCRIPTION:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHOmBV4js_E \nThe Vilnius-based dance theater Low Air is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its creative work and is launching “Platform for the Future”—a space where Low Air alumni and their latest works come together. \nOn Sunday evening\, we invite you to see two duet dance performances on one stage. Barbora Groblytė and Beatričė Šaltenytė will present the piece “RUJOJA. DUSLIAI LOJA. DVESIA\,” which won an award at the “Balkono okupacija” performing arts competition (2026) and was also presented at the “Share” international festival in Bratislava (2026) and the Valmiera Summer Theater Festival in Latvia (2026). \nAretas Piaseckas and Aura Šriubšaitė\, in the performance “ROCK’N’ RAP IS DEAD\,” inspired by rock and hip-hop cultures\, use the sounds and physicality of these genres to invite the audience to explore what lies behind the desire to be seen and ask: Why do we crave attention so much? \nThere will be short breaks between performances during the event. \nROCK’N’RAP IS DEAD\nROCK’N’RAP IS DEAD – a collaborative work by the young generation of dance creators Areto Piasecko and Aura Šriubšaitė. Inspired by rock and hip-hop cultures\, and drawing on their sounds and physicality\, the creators explore\, through the perspective of a young person\, fears\, ambitions\, and the desire to be recognized\, appreciated\, and heard. The performance invites us to look at what lies behind the desire to be seen and asks: why do we so desperately want to be noticed? \nDuring a discussion following the presentation of the sketch in March 2026\, audience members highlighted the intimate atmosphere created by the performance\, the strong connection between the two performers\, and their ability to draw the audience into a slow\, emotionally charged journey. They also noted that the performance reveals another side of fame—the one that often remains hidden behind the stage and the image being created. \nDuration: 50 min. \nPhoto: personal archive \n  \nCREATIVE TEAM \nConcept\, choreography\, performance: Aretas Piaseckas\, Aura ŠriubšaitėSound direction and design: Naglis BertulisMentors: Airida Gudaitė\, Laurynas Žakevičius \n ARETAS PIASECKAS AND AURA ŠRIUBŠAITĖAretas Piaseckas is a contemporary dance performer and choreographer\, as well as a teacher of contact improvisation at the Low Air dance school in Vilnius. DUSLIAI LOJA. DVESIA.\n RUJOJA. DUSLIAI LOJA. DVESIA. Their eyes glow. Their swollen eyelashes flutter quietly. It’s sticky and warm in the folds of their bodies. Go ahead and tear it apart or crush it with a dried-up bamboo stick. The sagging belly kisses. Slap it with your tongue\, dig in\, argue\, and strip naked right away. It will rip\, smash\, and tear. The cackling maniac will choke. Feed her with your sweaty palate. Tickle her groin\, lie down by her armpit. All the vomit from the heart. Slugs from the heart. While making love\, it will hide\, then it will stink. It gasps\, it rages\, love barks hoarsely. \nDuration: 40 min. \nPhoto: Dainius Putinas \nImportant information: nude bodies are shown during the performance. \n  \nCREATIVE TEAM \nCreators\, performers: Barbora Groblytė\, Beatričė ŠaltenytėComposer\, playwright: Ramūnas Kalinauskas \n BARBORA GROBLYTĖ AND BEATRIČĖ ŠALTENYTĖBeatričė Šaltenytė is a Low Air alumna\, a contemporary dance artist\, performer\, and choreographer of the younger generation\, currently studying in the Contemporary Dance program at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater.
