Vilnius city dance theater Low Air is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its creative work and is launching \u201cPlatform for the Future\u201d\u2014a space where Low Air alumni and their latest works come together.<\/p>

On Saturday evening, we invite you to see three works by the younger generation of dance artists. Ugn\u0117 Irena Laurinavi\u010di\u016bt\u0117 will present the premiere of her solo piece \u201cON SEEN\u201d\u2014about the ever-changing body and its reality, shaped by the gazes of others, cultural habits, and the repetitions of everyday life.<\/p>

In their performance \u201cBOMBING,\u201d inspired by street dance and graffiti culture, Monika \u010cibirait\u0117 and Gabija \u010cepelyt\u0117 will invite the audience to reflect on the defense of values, rebellion, risk, invisible oppression, the price of freedom, and the euphoria of liberation.<\/p>

In his solo piece \u201cSAD DIVA CLUB,\u201d Rokas Bugys will invite you to seek out a language of love\u2014inspired by the waacking dance style and the myth of the mermaid\u2014as well as to draw near, pause, observe, and savor the allure.<\/p>

There will be short breaks between performances during the event.<\/p>

ON SEEN \u2013 a solo work about the ever-changing body and its reality, shaped by gazes, cultural habits, and daily routines. Gender is revealed here not as a given, but as a construct that has settled over time\u2014an embodied habit that determines how bodies are seen and understood. What seems self-evident begins to shift, change, and take on other forms.
The body is in a state of constant flux here: shifting between different forms, states, and modes of visibility. Movement is deconstructed and reconstructed; it is allowed to fragment, overlap, and lose its clear boundaries\u2014as if viewed through fogged glass.
The choreography unfolds like compost\u2014from layers, remnants, rhythms, tension, and excess. Movements briefly take shape, disintegrate, and come together again, like waves that break into foam and reassemble themselves.
Instead of a clearly defined identity, a shifting landscape unfolds, in which different forms of expression overlap, merge, and lose their boundaries. The work remains in this state of instability\u2014with the possibility that the body will never settle\u2014and with a reality that could still be different.

Ugn\u0117 Irena Laurinavi\u010di\u016bt\u0117 is a Low Air alumna, a dancer, performer, and choreographer of the younger generation. Her solo piece\u2014inspired by her dance studies in Amsterdam and her experience working with the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company\u2014explores the ever-changing body and its reality, shaped by gazes, cultural habits, and daily routines. Ugn\u0117 Irena completed her bachelor\u2019s degree in dance at the Amsterdam University of the Arts in 2024. She has worked with artists such as William Forsythe, Thomas Hauert, Ioannis Mandafounis, Mario Lopes, Isabel Cordeiro, Emio Greco, Pieter Scholten, Adam J\u00f6nsson, Joelina Spiess, Airida Gudaite, Joseph Simon, and others.

BOMBING \u2013 a street dance duo that balances between self-expression and crime, individuality and community, hope and reconciliation. When paint cans start to be treated as dangerous bombs, and the future of the younger generation is painted over with prohibitions, what is left for us? Why do we call young people the future, yet restrict their self-expression? Who decides who is destined to create, and who is destined to remain silent? Who decides who will live, and who will die?<\/p>

Inspired by street dance and graffiti culture, *BOMBING* is a story about defending values, rebellion, risk, invisible oppression, the price of freedom, and the euphoria of liberation\u2014in reality, in the imagination, or perhaps only in the peace found in each other\u2019s arms.<\/p>

MONIKA \u010cIBIRAIT\u0116 AND GABIJA \u010cEPELYT\u0116<\/div>
Monika \u010cibirait\u0117 is an artist, dancer, and educator. She earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in contemporary dance from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, specializing in arts education. Monika is a professional street dancer who has specialized in the popping style since 2012. She has more than 13 years of experience and is well-known in the popping community both in Lithuania and abroad. Monika has long been interested in graffiti art\u2014in 2025, she organized her first graffiti art exhibition, \u201cSigil Mixtape,\u201d in Vilnius. From 2024 to 2026, she taught at \u00c5SA Folkh\u00f6gskola in Sweden, where she led a popping course and shared her knowledge with an international audience. After completing her studies, Monika participated in various dance performances and shows, and is currently pursuing independent artistic projects and striving to establish her name in the fields of culture and art.
Gabija \u010cepelyt\u0117 is a professional dancer, producer, and choreographer working internationally. Her creative practice and core expertise are rooted in the history and culture of street dance, particularly in the styles and techniques of hip-hop, house, and popping. Gabija earned her bachelor\u2019s degree in dance with highest honors from the Surrey\/Guildford School of Acting (United Kingdom). She later honed her skills through various programs and courses designed for dancers, producers, and choreographers. Gabija has extensive experience in street dance theater and is a recognized participant and organizer on both the Lithuanian and international street dance scenes.<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

SAD DIVA CLUB \u2013 a solo piece about the desire to love and be loved, about seduction as a way to draw closer to another, and about the body, which can be both alluring and vulnerable at the same time. What is the language of love that words cannot express? The dance style waacking and the myth of the mermaid\u2014these are the companions on this journey.<\/p>

The body becomes a channel of seduction and connection. A glance, a face, hands, a heartbeat, weight, and energy create an invisible thread between the performer and the viewer. Seduction here is not merely a promise\u2014it is an invitation to draw near, to pause, to look, to taste.<\/p>

\u201cSad Diva Club\u201d explores what lies between beauty and vulnerability, between fantasy and reality, between what endures and what is constantly changing. Like a wave\u2014always here, yet always different: approaching, receding, and returning once more. The feet remain rooted in reality, while the body drifts into a dream.<\/p>

This is a diva who invites you to watch. Or perhaps\u2014to be watched.<\/p>

Rokas Bugys is a Low Air alumnus, a dancer, performer, and choreographer of the younger generation, currently studying at the Amsterdam University of the Arts. In his work, he explores the embodiment of the siren through various movement practices and performative states, seeking ways to blur the boundaries between what is considered dance and what could yet become dance.
