The Grow Air program is designed for young dancers and dance students from all over Lithuania, based on the movement language created by Low Air – an organic blend of street dance and contemporary dance expression that has become an integral part of the troupe’s daily training. It aims to deepen the understanding of Low Air creative processes and develop exceptional movement skills. The essence of this program is to improve the dancer’s movement language and arsenal of tools, while maintaining a high technical and creative level.
The teaching methodology includes the analysis and practice of street and contemporary dance techniques, the analysis of audio and video material, team activities, creative tasks, observation, the presentation and reflection of personal experiences, and the provision of feedback.
The emphasis is on the process during which each dancer experiences individual growth and transformation. Participants are introduced to the repertoire of the Vilnius City Dance Theater and have the opportunity to attend Low Air performances.
The program is led by current and former Low Air school teachers and theater creators, and is curated by Low Air artistic director Airida Gudaitė.
Note: When participating in Grow Air dance classes, it is recommended to attend four weekly classes: two Grow Air classes and two classes in the dance style of your choice. A monthly membership of “dancer” or “performer” is required to participate in the Grow Air program classes.
