LOW AIR 15 | Platform for the future: ROCK’N’RAP IS DEAD & RUJOJA. DUSLIAI LOJA. DVESIA
The Vilnius-based dance theater Low Air is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its creative work and is launching “Platform for the Future”—a space where Low Air alumni and their latest works come together.
On Sunday evening, we invite you to see two duet dance performances on one stage. Barbora Groblytė and Beatričė Šaltenytė will present the piece “RUJOJA. DUSLIAI LOJA. DVESIA,” which won an award at the “Balkono okupacija” performing arts competition (2026) and was also presented at the “Share” international festival in Bratislava (2026) and the Valmiera Summer Theater Festival in Latvia (2026).
Aretas Piaseckas and Aura Šriubšaitė, in the performance “ROCK’N’ RAP IS DEAD,” inspired by rock and hip-hop cultures, use the sounds and physicality of these genres to invite the audience to explore what lies behind the desire to be seen and ask: Why do we crave attention so much?
There will be short breaks between performances during the event.
ROCK'N'RAP IS DEAD
ROCK’N’RAP IS DEAD – a collaborative work by the young generation of dance creators Areto Piasecko and Aura Šriubšaitė. Inspired by rock and hip-hop cultures, and drawing on their sounds and physicality, the creators explore, through the perspective of a young person, fears, ambitions, and the desire to be recognized, appreciated, and heard. The performance invites us to look at what lies behind the desire to be seen and asks: why do we so desperately want to be noticed?
During a discussion following the presentation of the sketch in March 2026, audience members highlighted the intimate atmosphere created by the performance, the strong connection between the two performers, and their ability to draw the audience into a slow, emotionally charged journey. They also noted that the performance reveals another side of fame—the one that often remains hidden behind the stage and the image being created.
