Festive Improvisation Session
On December 19, the Black Hall at Arts Printing House will be transformed into a dance playground for a day, open to anyone who wants to come together in a somewhat unconventional setting—an improvisation session.
Everyone is invited to participate in this festive improvisation session, regardless of their dance experience.
Evening program:
~ 6:00–6:30 p.m. | An unconventional locking dance class in a party atmosphere
In this unconventional locking dance class-party, you’ll feel as relaxed as you would at a great party, while learning the steps of the locking dance language, later applying them in an improvisation session or dancing to music played by a DJ.
Curated by: Kristina Klioštoraitytė-Funky Kriss
~ 6:40–7:40 PM | Contact improvisation session
The term “improvisation,” often used in the dance community, will be the main focus of the evening—during the session, movement will be created “here and now,” spontaneously, while listening to the DJ, to one another, and observing the surroundings.
Curated by: Aretas Piaseckas and Juozas Veiverys
How to prepare?
Anyone interested, regardless of experience level, is welcome to join this festive evening. The curating dancers will help participants embrace spontaneous creativity through movement games and demonstrations of their own practice.
How to prepare? Wear loose, comfortable clothing. For the locking dance class-party, wear clean athletic shoes; for the contact improvisation session, wear socks or go barefoot.
The event is free. Registration is required.
