PŪGA Dance Mini-Festival | LOW AIR 10 FEST. CLOSING EVENT
December 28–30, 2021

Last year, we celebrated the holiday season with performances at home; this year, we are delighted to invite you not only to watch, but also to meet, and in doing so, to give and receive the gift of movement.
During the holiday season, Low Air Vilnius City Dance Theater | School invites you to experience:

Program:

December 28, 7:00 p.m., Menų spaustuvė
LOW AIR CHRISTMAS. DANCE + COMMUNITY
Improvisation session + disco

We celebrate the most beautiful holidays of the year by creating them ourselves—the term “improvisation,” often used in the dance community, becomes the central focus of the celebration. We invite you to an improv session where we create movement in the here and now, listening to the DJ, observing our surroundings, and watching each other.
There will be darkness and light, there will be a DJ, there will be a community—be there too! Be a participant, be a spectator—every spectator is also a participant in the improvisation.

The improvisation session is open to anyone who wants to and enjoys improvising; encouraged by Low Air—youth and adults alike.
Free. Registration required (for both participants and spectators).

December 29, 7:00 PM, Menų spaustuvė
DOUBLE PERFORMANCE EVENING. PREMIERE – the hybrid dance performance BLUE BLUE and PRE-PREMIERE – the street dance performance VYRSMAS (sketch)

The evening will open with young artist Marius Eidrigevičius presenting a sketch of his one-man show *VYRSMAS*. VYRSMAS explores the concept of masculinity, its causes and consequences, and depicts a man’s inner journey—from stereotype-based masculinity to self-understanding and acceptance. More information about the play in development: https://lowair.lt/teatras/vyrsmas/

FULL! Registration is closed.
Admission is free, but registration is required
Start: 7:00 PM

The dance performance BLUE BLUE is a collaborative work by five creators who met almost by chance (in truth, brought together by curators Paulius Prievelis and Birutė Bagdonienė), arising not from a planned action, but rather from a free interpretive process involving the sharing of auditory, visual, and kinetic impulses.
Human and non-human bodies moving through space engage in a continuous nonverbal polyphony that takes root not only on the stage itself, but also between the stage and off-stage reality. As if in response to a context of isolation and separation, this visually playful work can be read as a multi-layered exploration of a new reality. To what extent are we free* to create a relationship and trust what lies beyond masks and screens?
On the other hand, this work can also be interpreted much more simply: as a kinetic, chromatic, and sonic narrative, without complicating our daily lives with existential questions.

FESTIVAL CLOSING. Visual dance performance – GAME OVER

After touring South Korea and Germany, the GAME OVER team returns home to Menų spaustuvė for a reunion with friends, co-creators, and colleagues.
Awarded the Golden Cross of the Stage and having traveled the world, this work is “like a shower of glitter—a cascade of paradoxical, dreamlike images” [Helmutas Šabasevičius]. The artists invite you to dive into a dream, play with your imagination, and, for once, not be afraid to stay in your dreams. The audience is transported to specific situations where fabrications and subtle emotions intertwine with the reality of a dream, becoming an inseparable element of image and movement.

Celebrating safely—Passports of Opportunity are required for all events.
