Greta Snitkutė is a dance teacher and dance performer. Having started dancing more than 10 years ago at the Low Air dance school, she has tried various street dance styles and contemporary dance, but Greta was most impressed by the hip hop street dance style, its culture and music.
Deepening her dance knowledge, she attended workshops in France, “Juste Debout school” with Icee, Link, in the Netherlands, “Summer Dance Forever” workshops with Laura Nala, Oomoo, in Lithuania with Sophie May, Maximus Mad State, Jimmy Yudat, Sekou Heru.
For her personal progress as a dancer, in 2017 Greta was awarded the educational scholarship for the most promising student established by Vilnius City Dance Theatre Low Air. Since 2017, the dancer has been actively participating in Low Air professional theatre projects, some of the most memorable ones being: a dance performance for the Pope and 30,000 spectators “For Those Far Away”, the dance performance “LIKEDISLIKE” in the social campaign “Awareness Raising Month WITHOUT BULLYING 2020” organized by the Children’s Line, and in projects by other creators: a role in the performance “Nobody Will Take Me Away From Me” by performance artist Monika Dirsytė, a role in the hybrid documentary film “Laivas” (dir. Gerda Paliušytė), and a role in the LRT project “Musical Journey in Time”.
Greta is one of the co-authors and dancers of the Vilnius City Dance Theatre Low Air dance performance “me two / We, the clique”. After the premiere of this performance in August 2021, the troupe is currently actively showing the performance in foreign and Lithuanian cities, and doing “Savos kruvoj” method workshops for youth in the regions. For the best performance for children and youth in 2021, the performance team was awarded the highest theater award in Lithuania – the Golden Stage Cross.

THREE KEY EVENTS:
– Low Air dance community. Over the past 10 years, I have found a home, friends, and, most importantly, constant knowledge and experience that nurtures me. I feel that this is a special community in which I feel mutual trust and a desire to get to know each other. It is good to see people who dare to come to their first dance lesson, it is good to see how dance brings together and constantly, without stopping, nurtures and encourages others to nurture.
– Pedagogical work with children. With their freedom and creativity, and sometimes with a very clear attitude or opinion, children encourage constant learning and a creative approach to dance and movement. I feel that there is mutual learning in the lessons, and the children also learn from each other. I am most happy when the students discover themselves in movement, accept their bodies, feel freedom in movement (and in words).
– A moment at the Golden Stage Cross Awards ceremony, while receiving the Golden Stage Cross for the best performance for children and youth of 2021 – “me two / Savoj kruvoj”. I had the opportunity to speak and invite others to speak and talk more, on comfortable and uncomfortable topics. At that time, I felt that the language of dance encourages, opens and grows, and the created dance performance can help the audience (and creators) discover a long-delayed conversations.
