What happens when poor kids want to dance, but all they see in their city is violence, gangs and no dance schools? They create a dance that will soon be danced by the whole world – breakdancing. Breakdancing is perhaps the most widely known and dynamic street dance style, full of acrobatic tricks, lightning-fast footwork, standing and spinning on your head or hands. The times when breakdancing was only a dance practiced in back alleys and underground passages are already in the past. Breakdancing today is a dance with its own history, movement base and philosophy, and it is followed by countless theatrical performances, dance battles and events around the world. At the center of all this is a large and united community of breakdancers around the world, of which everyone who considers themselves a “B-Girl” or “B-Boy” becomes a member.
