Contemporary dance is a dance which formed its unique identity in the middle of 20th century and today is widely spread in the whole world, specifically in Europe and the United States. This dance style is a dominant dance style in the professional dance scene and it is so for a good reason. Free and often improvised movement (which is comprised of various ballet, contemporary, jazz, street and other dance styles) opens unprecedented opportunities for dancers and choreographers to express themselves.
